Born June 20, 1903 in Hokkaido, Kubo Reishun (Kubo Shigeo) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Aoki Reibo I and was a longtime member of the Reibo-kai. He was active in the shakuhachi world for more than 40 years.
