Takubo Ichidō (Takubo Ichirō) was born April 23, 1913 in Ehime Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Kaneyasu Tōdō. He became an instructor in 1949. He was a member of the Nihon Chikudō Gakkan and an advisor to the Kumamoto University of Commerce and Kumamoto Junior College Koto Club.
