Morishita Shōdō (Morishita Shōzō) was born January 1, 1928 in Mie Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Yamada Kodō. He started teaching in 1961. He was a member of Nihon Chiku-dō Gakkan.
