Yagi Reifū (Yagi Hideaki) was born February 17, 1933 in Fukuoka Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Ōhara Seiran. He began teaching in 1969. He was the vice general manager of the Bifū-kai and belonged to the Midō branch of the same association.
