Yamaguchi Roshū (Yamaguchi Hide) was born May 1, 1904 in Kanagawa Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū and Meian-ryū shakuhachi under Ishii Yōdō, Satō Seibi, and Jin Nyodō. He is the Tokushima branch chief of the Bifū-kai and belongs to the Nyodō-kai.
