Yamada Suifū (Yamada Yasuharu) was born October 17, 1924 in Miyagi Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Ishitaka Kinpū. He started teaching in 1940. He was the leader of the Suifū-kai, and belongs to the Seifū-kai and the Kinpū-kai.
