Born in Tokyo in 1959. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai). He has composed many commissioned works for chamber music, children's choir, and amateur orchestras, focusing on Japanese instruments. He is also active in music for anime and plays, and is orchestrator for Ryuichi Sakamoto.
