Murai Yasuji

Born in Tokyo in 1936 (Showa 11). Graduated from Keio University School of Medicine in 1960. Graduated from the Department of Musicology at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1965. Completed a Master's course at the same university's graduate school in 1967. Since 1989, he has been a professor at Kunitachi College of Music. He is currently Director of the Music Research Institute at Kunitachi College of Music, a director of the Japanese Society for Arts Therapy, a permanent director of the All Japan Music Therapy Federation, and president of the Tokyo Music Therapy Association. His specialties are Japanese music history, music therapy.
