Born May 3, 1950, Ninomiya Kikuho (Ninomiya Ritsuko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Satō Chikaki, earning her teaching license in 1970. She graduated from the music department of the University of Education's School for the Blind and belonged to the Shiragiku-kai.
