Nakamura Reiko was born in Osaka, December 17, 1939. Studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Nakamura Sōyō I, earning her teaching license in 1960. She was the head of the Hafū-kai, with branches throughout the Kanto, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions.
