Composer - Koto

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture, January 15, 1911, Nakashio Kōyū studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Kikuta Utao II, earning his Shihan (teaching license) in 1927.
Active as a teacher and performer for almost 60 years, he was president of the Koto Akebono Association, a planning committee member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai, and an instructor at the Chiyoda Women's School Koto Club.
