Hayashi Fumiko was born September 10, 1942 in Kyoto. She studied under Ikuta-ryū koto master Fukumori Toshiko. She graduated from the 14th class of the NHK Ikusei-kai and belonged to the Nihon Tōdō Ongaku-kai and the Kyoto Eiraku-kai.
