Mikami Kasei

Born August 4, 1902. Originally from Iwakuni City, Mikami Kasei (Mikami Kiyoko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Murakami Kengyō, Chikushi Katsuko, and Imai Kanami. She started teaching in 1946. In a career lasting more than 50 years, she received the Otake City Cultural Merit Award in 1969 and was a longtime member of the Chikushi-kai.
