Miwa Reiko was born March 19, 1931 in Nagoya. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Satō Kimiko and Mishina Masayasu (Satō Masakazu lineage) and became a teacher in 1962. She belonged to the Nagoya Kokufū Ongaku-kai.
