Yamada Shōka

Born January 18, 1943 in Akita Prefecture, Yamada Shōka (Yamada Akiko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Sasaki Shōkō. She started teaching in 1969. She won the Outstanding Performance Award at the Sankyoku Performance Competition in 1970, and was an auditor at the Japanese Music Research Association.
