Born in Osaka Prefecture, March 21, 1926, Nakajima Kikuyō (Nakajima Masako) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Nakamura Sōyō and Nakamura Reiko. Graduated from the music department of Osaka Municipal School for the Blind and started teaching in 1967. She was head of the Kanto branch of the Hafū-kai.
