Born January 18, 1906 in Tokyo, Hirashima Juse (Hirashima Juse) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Yamase Shōin II and began teaching in 1940. During her 50+ years as a performer and a teacher, she was head of the Inka-kai, a director of the Seiin-kai, and a councillor of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
