Yamamoto Isatoyo (Yamamoto Setsuko) was born August 21, 1940 in Hyogo Prefecture. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Ueda Chikasatoi (Usui Chikai lineage), earning her teacher certification in 1966. She belonged to the Kobe Koto Study Association.
