Born October 8, 1921 in Kyoto, Miyoshi Atsuko (Miyoshi Hiroko) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Sekizawa Hiroyoshi (Yatsuhashi Kengyo lineage). She started teaching in 1939. In a career of over 40 years, she was head of the Kinshū-kai, and a councillor and Grand Master of the Kyoto Tōdō-kai.
