Kikuchi Fumichise (Kikuchi Kazue) was born in Sapporo, April 12, 1911. She studied shamisen and koto under Ikuta-ryū masters Sekigawa, Okada Ōkōtō, and Saotome Fumisei. She received her masters license in 1949. A member of the Sōchō-kai, she had more than 40 years experience as a performer and teacher.
