Born in Ōsaka, January 15, 1934, Koizumi Eiko studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Koizumi Reishi and Nakata Seigin. She started teaching in 1956 and was a member of the Tōdō Ongaku-kai as well as vice president of the Sōkyoku Reishi-kai.
