Kobayashi Misao (Kobayashi Misao) was born in Fukushima City, January 28, 1899. She studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Yamashita Kuniyoshi Kengyō in Sendai, Endō Yūko Kengyō, and Miyagi Michio, earning her teaching license in 1926. A member of the Miyagi-kai, she was the recipient of the Fukushima City Cultural Merit Award, and was active as a performer and teacher for more than 50 years.
