Sakaoka Yoshiko

Sakaoka Yoshiko (Ōhori Yoshiko) was born in Okayama Prefecture, March 29, 1909. She studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Sakamoto Shūgyoku I and received her teacher’s license in 1927. A member of the Sakayū-kai, she was active as a performer and teacher for more than 50 years.
