Sugimoto Atsuko

Born in Niigata Prefecture, September 24, 1922, Sugimoto Atsuko studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Furuya Tomizō, Tokita Hatsue (Miyagi-sha), and Hirai Miki. She was appointed assistant professor at the Miyagi-sha in 1941, instructor of koto in 1964, and instructor of shamisen at the Hōyu-kai in 1965. She was affiliated with the Hōyu-kai.
