Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture, February 10, 1929, Naoe Takako studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Furuya Tomizō, Furuya Yasue, and Sekino Kayū.
She started teaching in 1964 and belonged to the Hōyū-kai.
