Born in Osaka, August 23, 1899, Nakamine Takako (Ōyabu Taka) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Nakajima Gyōmu. She began teaching in 1918. During a career as a teacher and performer for more than 50 years, she was the founder and president of the Wakō-kai and a director of the Osaka Sankyoku Kyōkai.
