Hayashi Shōko was born June 18, 1943 in Osaka Prefecture.
She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Kaneko Tai and began teaching in 1966.
She belonged to the Tōdō Ongaku-kai and Sanwa-kai.
