Fujita Ryokuyō (Fujita Yōko) was born February 15, 1939 in Odawara City. She studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Nakamura Ryokkō (of the Nakada Hiroyuki lineage), earning her teaching certification in 1969. She was a member of the Sōgakkai.
