Born December 25, 1938 in Oita Prefecture, Furushō Kachiyōo (Furushō Tomio) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Machida Kachiyō and Sawai Tadao. He started teaching in 1967, belonged to the Chikushi-kai, and was associate executive of the Saitama Prefectural Japanese Dance Association.
