Born March 24, 1953 in Saitama Prefecture, Machida Kachiyōtoku (Machida Toku) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under her mother Machida Kachiyō. She graduated from the 17th class of the NHK Hōgaku Ikusei-kai and started teaching in 1970. She was a member of the Chikushi-kai and Saitama Prefecture Dance Association.
