Matsumoto Yukiko was born October 17, 1925 in Nagasaki Prefecture. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Shiota Ikuko, Nakahara Shiori, and Watanabe Sumiko. She began teaching in 1970 and belonged to the Kyushu Miyagi-kai and Kotobuki-kai.
