Born March 1, 1931 in Chiba Prefecture, Miyamoto Nobuko studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Miyagi Michio, Miyagi Kiyoko, Miyagi Kazue, and Tamura Michiko. She began teaching in 1957. She won first place in the Tokyo Shimbun Sankyoku Contest in 1960. Miyamoto Nobuko was the head of the Sōbi-kai and a council member for the Kanto region of the Miyagi-kai.
