Born March 4th, 1915 in Tokyo, Yamaki Senga V studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Koshino Eishō I. He started teaching in 1935. He was a director of the Yamada-ryū Kyōkai, a planning committee member of the Sankyoku Kyōkai, and head of the Yamaki-kai.
