Yamane Hidei (Yamane Kikue) was active in the Hōgaku community for more than 60 years. Born December 31, 1891, she studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Imai Keishō, earning her teaching certification in 1902. She belonged to the Keifū-kai and was a council member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
