Born July 14, 1901 in Niigata Prefecture, Hayakawa Reidō (Hayakawa Teiji) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Muroi Takudō (Araki Kodō III lineage). He was a member of the Kushiro Kinko-kai.
