Nagaya Kyoin (Nagaya Minoru) was born August 21, 1936 in Gifu City.
He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Shima Kyorei (Chikuyu-sha lineage) and started teaching in 1971.
He belonged to the Sugo-sha.
