Born July 17, 1904 in Nagano Prefecture, Yokozawa Yōdō (born Yokozawa Kaname) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Karasawa Yōshū. He received his Shihan and began teaching in 1958. He was the secretary-general of the Fuyo-kai and head of the Kamisho Sankyoku Association.
