Born in Maebashi City, October 9, 1914, Nakajima Hiroko studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Takahashi Hatsuko and Fukuda Eika. She started teaching in 1948. She was head of the Tsukushi-kai, a councillor of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai, a member of Mitsu-no-oto-kai, and was active as a teacher and performer for more than 50 years.
