Born in Tokyo, October 3, 1920, Tomizaki Fumiyo (Shiozuka Fumiyo) studied Ikuta-ryū under her father, Tomizaki Shunshō, attaining her Shihan (teaching license) in 1936. Active as a performer, teacher, and prolific recording artist for more than 50 years, she was president of the Sōbi-kai and a planning committee member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
