Satō Fumiko

Born in Fukushima Prefecture November 23, 1935, Satō Fumiko studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Miyagi Michio, earning her Shihan (teaching license) in 1965. She was promoted to Dai-Shihan (Grand Master) in 1970. During her more than 50-year career as a teacher and performer, she was also a council member of the Miyagi-kai and president of the Fuyō-kai.
