Born May 11, 1922 in Fukushima Prefecture, Seki Chōshō (Seki Haruko) studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Kimura Masahiro and Machida Kachiyō. She started teaching in 1959 and belonged to the Chikushi-kai.
