Higaki Isei

For more than 40 years Higaki Isei (Higaki Eiko) was active as both a performer and teacher in Tokyo. Born August 2, 1912, she studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Imai Keishō, receiving her teaching license in 1941. She was head of the Hanasei-kai and affiliated with the Keifū-kai, as well as a counsellor of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
