Born October 18, 1924 in Yubari, Hokkaido, Yokomichi Toyoka (Yokomichi Sakko) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Sanagi Okatoyo. She started teaching in 1945 and belonged to the Kototomo-kai and Hagioka-kai.
