Ikejima Sōho (Ikejima Masanori) was born July 17, 1932 in Ishikawa Prefecture. He studied Chikuho-ryū shakuhachi under Sakai Chikuo (Chikuho I) and started teaching in 1962. He was a member of the the Seibi-kai.
