Kikunaga Yasue

Kikunaga Yasue (Numata Fujiko) was born in Kyōto, March 8, 1905. She studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Kanō Hōya, Kikunaka Beishū, and Kikuzuki Shūei and began teaching in 1923. A performer and teacher for more than 60 years, she was the head of the Kinei-kai and a member the Nihon Tōdō Ongaku-kai Concert Ensemble.
