Sawada Seiyō

Sawada Seiyō (Sawada Sada) was born in Tokushima City, September 21, 1926. She studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Matsuo Natsuko and Nakamura Sōyō, earning her Shihan (masters license) in 1945. She received the Tokushima Prefectural Arts Festival Encouragement Award three times. A member of the Tokushima branch of the Yōfū-kai, she was an active performer and teacher for more than 40 years.
