Born January 28, 1932 in Tokyo, Manabe Kiyoga (Manabe Kyoko) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Fujii Chiyoga I, Fujii Chiyoga II, and Nakanoshima Kin’ichi. Head of Shinka-kai, Tokoro-shio-kai, Fuji-no-kai Shin-affiliated. She graduated from the Hōgaku Dept. at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1959, the Advanced Course the same year, and began teaching in 1960.
