Nakayama Mitose

Active as a performer and teacher for more than 60 years, Miyama Mitose (Nakayama Kiyoko) was born in Tokyo, October 2, 1906. She studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Satō Miyose I, Nakanoshima Kin’ichi, and Koshino Eishō I, and graduated from the Tokyo Music School (now Tokyo University of the Arts). She was a councillor of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai, and was affiliated with Seiga-kai.
