Mizukawa Hagisue

Born May 14, 1902 in Tokyo, Mizukawa Hagisue (Mizukawa Toshiko) had a long career as a performer and teacher spanning more than 50 years. She studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under both Hagioka Shōin I and Hagioka Shōin II, earning her teaching license in 1949. She belonged to the Hagioka-kai.
