Watatsu Shōsui (Watatsu Yoneko) had a career in Hōgaku that spanned more than 50 years. She was born May 22, 1912 in Toyokawa City. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Tsujimura Shōryū and was given her teaching license in 1930. She belonged to the Kinryū-kai.
